Clouded Place

10/28/2021

Picture
Behind the blank stare of your eyes
We sit in a stale silence

I watch time go by
Some days you come to me and cry
Longing to be recognized

Pressed against
The bitterness of your tongue
Your negativity fills the room
Again… on and on…
|  I struggle to breathe  |
Your harsh words sting
The room is buzzing with negativity

It used to feel so good in your embrace
But now I feel like I’m in a strange place

I hide behind my screen
to sneak away before I’m seen
