my drop cloth installation… returning home has reminded me of a tender space that I carry with me - a space which we all carry. While making this installation I sourced a wide range of feelings I was experiencing. I lost a dear friend in September, this month has historically been hard for me as I have lost many significant people in my life during September - at the same time many of my family members have birthdays and anniversaries - this is also a month I move to a new place and start school again. September is a celebration of life and transition for me. Pain, growth, and joy. This installation was a way of being with and moving through these emotions. I created a space for reflection, relaxation, and an appreciation of space, light, and time. By creating transportational spaces for reflection, wonder, and appreciation I believe we can move with our emotions to find a tender and loving space within ourselves and others to connect on deeper levels.
